My sympathies for your friend. I want to reiterate what Intrudn said:...Call the cops on reckless/drunk drivers. I've purchased a cheap prepaid cell phone specifically for this purpose, and I use it often.
I have absolutley no qualms with "ratting" out reckless drivers. While I would prefer to use a more personal and permanent solution for dealing with these drunks/hot shots, I will not risk losing my freedom. Therefore, my only recourse is to put the law enforcement personnel that my tax dollars support to work.
I rode down to the Gulf Coast this weekend, and was almost killed no fewer than six times by reckless drivers....and I was in my truck!!
Don't get me wrong...I'm no saint...I've had the cuffs slapped on more than a few times in my youth.
If this makes me a hyopcrite...oh well. I'll continue calling the cops on every hot shot I see on the road, and I encourage all of you to do the same.
"Look twice save a life" bumper stickers look nice, and they may serve to make a responsible driver even more aware, but the only way to deal with these drunk/reckless drivers is to get them off the road.
Do it...get a tracfone...call the cops...get a liscense plate number...save a loved ones life.
